Hertz in Yerevan Airport

Yerevan ‘Zvartnots’ Airport is conveniently located just 12km from the centre of Yerevan, Armenia’s capital city. The busiest airport in the country, it welcomes an estimated 3.5 million passengers each year. Conveniently connected to the city by the M5, Yerevan Airport is well placed for anyone wishing to hire a vehicle from Hertz Car Rental.

Hertz Car Rental is the world’s leading vehicle renting organisation, operating from over 7,700 branches in over 145 countries across the world. It has been at the forefront of the car hire industry for almost 100 years, supplying quality rental vehicles to tourists and business travellers. In that time, Hertz Car Rental has helped millions of passengers enjoy the convenience and comfort that only self-drive can afford. Hertz customers can choose from a variety of vehicles, ensuring a smooth and pleasant journey, mile after mile.

About the Airport

Yerevan Airport was built in 1961. An architectural competition was launched in 1970 and the airport was redeveloped according to the winning design. Over the next decade, as demands on the airport grew, a new terminal building was completed, followed by the construction of a new cargo terminal in 1998, giving Yerevan Airport the capacity to deal with more than 100,000 tonnes of cargo each year. Another passenger terminal was opened in 2004 and a further in 2011, allowing the airport to welcome almost 3million passengers through its doors.
Today, the airport offers a variety of services to its customers. There are some excellent shopping opportunities available in both the arrival and departure levels, with the Duty Free shops offering a range of both local and international products, including alcohol, perfume, clothing, toys and leather goods. For those who’d like to enjoy a drink or something to eat, there is an extensive selection of cafés and restaurants serving everything from coffees to Chinese and traditional Armenian food.

How to Rent a Car at Yerevan International Airport

The Yerevan International Airport Hertz Car Rental branch is located just 20 minutes away, in Yerevan itself. Anyone wishing to rent a car from this branch will be met by a Hertz representative and taken to the offices by taxi. The branch is open from 10.00 to 18.00, seven days a week. Hertz also provides a drop-off and pick-up service which is out-of-hours and can be arranged through the Reservation Centre.

You must be at least 18 years of age to rent a car through Hertz at Yerevan International Airport. This applies to just one class of vehicle, and for other categories you’ll need to be either 25 or 30 depending on the make. On payment of a young driver surcharge, this can be reduced to 19 years old in the 25-group. You will have to produce your valid EU licence, or an International Driving Permit (IDP) if you are coming from outside the EU. A valid passport is needed too, or a valid ID if you’re from an EU member country. Where customers have arranged advance collection, the relevant documentation will be required, and all payments can be made using a credit or debit card.

Additional information:

• Hertz Car Rental offers a Chauffeur-Drive service for those customers who do not wish to drive themselves, or are unable to.

• A satellite navigation system fitted into some makes and models of rental vehicle allow easier negotiation of the region.

• Child and booster seats are available for those travelling with children.
