About the airport

Innsbruck Airport (also known as Kranebitten Airport) is one of eight main airports in Austria. This is the biggest airport in the country’s Tyrol region, and operates year-round and seasonal flights. Innsbruck Airport is conveniently placed for the town of Innsbruck itself (3 miles away) and many nearby Alpine ski resorts. Innsbruck’s popularity as a winter sports destination means that passenger numbers peak in the winter season. To ensure availability, it is a good idea to book a hire car early if you are travelling at this time of year.

Innsbruck Airport has one terminal building and one runway. The airport is used purely for passenger transport. The Innsbruck Airport Hertz branch is just a short walk from the arrivals lounge on Südtirolerplatz.
