Hertz in Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU)

Brussels-Zaventem Airport, also known as Brussels Airport, is the main international airport in the Belgian capital, with flights to over 180 destinations, including New York, Barcelona, and Istanbul. Around a 20-minute drive from the centre of Brussels, Brussels Airport is located in the Zaventem area of the city.

Whether you’re exploring the fascinating and architecturally stunning city of Brussels or travelling a little further afield to enjoy Belgium’s picturesque landscapes, romantic castles and charming castles, the most convenient way to get around has to be by hire car. Located at the airport, Hertz Car Rental offers fuss-free car hire so you can start your Belgian adventure as soon as you land.

About the airport

With a long history dating back to the 1940s, Brussels-Zaventem Airport has undergone a number of expansions and redevelopments, notably in 1996, when a new terminal was constructed next to the old building. Today Brussels-Zaventem Airport is the 21st busiest airport in Europe, connecting over 20 million passengers each year.

Brussels Airport has just one terminal, which has a number of facilities across several levels, for example, the two departure halls are located on level 3. There is also a railway station on level -1 and a taxi rank on level 0, linking the airport to the city. The airport has all the facilities, retail space and services you’d expect from an important European transport hub.

How to rent a car at Brussels-Zaventem Airport

The Hertz Car Rental Branch is located in the arrivals area of the airport and is open between the hours of 0630-2330 Monday to Friday, 0630-2100 Saturday and 0630-2330 Sunday. After making your booking, you will head upstairs to collect your vehicle from the parking garage. Please provide a valid flight number, otherwise, you will be required to pick up or drop your vehicle at an alternative location.

If you’re looking to satisfy a love of all things automotive, and you’re heading to Brussels, why not park up at AutoWorld located in the center of the city? Housing 350 vintage and classic cars, this large automotive museum is a veritable treasure-trove of European and American motors and a great place to visit for families who love their cars.

While you might love driving, Brussels looks pretty good by foot too. No trip would be complete without a leisurely walking tour of the city’s stunning architecture, notably the Grand Place, an opulent square at the heart of the city and a UNESCO World Heritage site.
