Hertz in Copenhagen International Airport (CPH)

Copenhagen International Airport serves the whole of Zealand and much of southern Denmark as well as the Copenhagen area. In 2015 it saw over 26 million passengers pass through its two terminals and the figure is rising by the year. Just 8km to the south of Denmark’s capital, the airport is perfectly situated for exploring this exciting and historic city and the wider region with Hertz Car Rental.

Hertz Car Rental provides its customers internationally with a selection of rental vehicles for their ongoing travel requirements. It has been doing so for almost a century, and customers arriving at Copenhagen International Airport can expect quick and easy access to a suitable vehicle. They can then enjoy the comfort and convenience that self-drive brings as they explore this great and historic city and its environs with Hertz Car Rental.

About the airport

Opened in 1925, Copenhagen International Airport was originally made mostly of wood but has modernised since then and is a now a state-of-the-art facility with two large terminal buildings and a greatly expanded infrastructure since 1982. The architecture is internationally renowned for its innovation and beauty, and it’s a favourite hub with transit passengers. A pier connects the international and domestic terminals, and a new Metro station connects the airport with Copenhagen Metro, making it quick and easy to get to and from the centre of the city.

Terminals 2 and 3 handle all flights into and out of the airport and share a passenger concourse on the air side. Low-cost carriers have their own dedicated area called CPH Go, and a possible Terminal 4 has not yet got beyond the planning stage. You’ll find the Hertz Car Rental branch at Copenhagen Airport within easy walking distance of the Arrivals lounge.

How to rent a car at Copenhagen International Airport

The Hertz Car Rental branch is open Monday to Sunday from 7.00am to 11.00pm. Out of these hours there is a collection and delivery service made available by Hertz for the convenience of customers flying at odd hours, to facilitate their travel arrangements.

You must be 28 years of age to rent a Hertz car at Copenhagen International Airport, although this can be reduced to 23 or 19 years depending on the make and model of vehicle you hire and on payment of a 100 DKK per day supplementary charge. You’ll also need to hold a valid passport or ID if you are from an EU country, or a valid passport only if you’re from outside the EU. A full driving licence is also required, and if this is from outside the EU an International Driving Permit will be requested. When you arrive at the Hertz Car Rental desk you can make your payment either by credit or debit card, and for pre-booked vehicles the paperwork involved will also be needed.

Additional information:

• Refer to the Residency section of Rental Qualifications & Requirements if you’re registered as having Danish citizenship.
• Hertz provides a chauffeur service if you do not want to, or cannot, drive the rental vehicle yourself.
