Driving and Parking in Paris Colombes

You will need a full driving licence and must be over 21 to rent a car in Paris Colombes. If you are from outside the European Union you will also need an International Driving Permit (IDP). Just like any other major European City, central Paris can become incredibly crowded and parking spaces are at a premium. Driving in and around Colombes

Local attractions

Just 6km from Colombes is the elegant and incredibly popular Paris Country Club. This is an ideal location for anyone looking for a little ‘down time’ or who wants to get in a round or two of golf during their trip to Paris. As well as putting greens there is a 9-hole, par 35 course, while the clubhouse also provides luxury spa, tennis and conferencing facilities.

Colombes is also perfectly located for anyone wishing to see the main Parisian attractions such as the Eiffel Tower, as the excellent public transport system and road network takes you straight into the centre of Paris in under 30 minutes.

Key routes

One of the main routes through Colombes is the Rue Francois Faber, where you’ll find the Stade Olympique Yves-du-Manoir, a magnificent sports stadium originally built for the 1924 Olympics. Today it still plays host to sporting events, and is the main landmark in this part of Paris.

One of the city’s largest train stations, Paris – Saint-Lazare, is located in the heart of Colombes. It’s the second-busiest railway station in Europe, and more than 450,000 passengers pass through it every day. Be aware that the roads in and around the station, particularly Rue d'Amsterdam, can get very busy, particularly during morning and evening rush hours.

Major Highways

Colombes’ location close to the outer ring road puts it conveniently close to the arterial major highways that fan out in all directions from the capital. For business travellers, proximity to the A15, which takes you to northern France, and the A13 Autoroute de Normandie, make moving around in the north of the country easy and convenient. Use the outer ring road to access other major highways such as the A1 L’Autoroute Du Nord and the A4 west to Reims.

Colombes is also centrally located for not just one but two of Paris’ airports, Charles De Gaulle (just under 15 miles) for international flights, and Orly Field (14½ miles), for internal and European connections.
