Hertz in Lyon–Saint-Exupéry Airport (LYS)

Lyon–Saint-Exupéry Airport is the third largest in the country and a major transport hub for the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region of southeastern France. Opened in 1975, the airport’s three terminals saw 8.5 million passengers pass through in 2013, and this figure looks set to continue rising. Just 40 minutes by car from Lyon city centre, Lyon–Saint-Exupéry Airport is perfectly situated for exploring this historic city and the rest of the area by car from Hertz Car Rental.

With over 90 years of expertise in supplying rental vehicles to discerning clients, Hertz Car Rental allows passengers arriving at Lyon–Saint-Exupéry Airport the comfort and flexibility afforded by self-drive, whether you’re here for business or pleasure. The local Hertz Car Rental branch is located on the Route du Pusignan in Lyon, and a courtesy bus will take you there from Gate 27 on the ground floor of Terminal 2.

About the airport

The old Lyon-Bron Airport could not be expanded because of its urban location and was replaced by the present Lyon–Saint-Exupéry Airport. The TVG service brought high-speed rail links to the airport in 1994, taking passengers on directly to Marseilles and Paris. The huge fan-shaped canopy is the airport’s most distinctive feature. A new and bigger terminal was started in 2014 to eventually replace Terminal 3. There are cafés, bars and restaurants in all parts of the airport complex, and Lyon is conveniently close to reach by road or rail.

The airport has a total capacity of almost 10 million, but this looks set to greatly increase when current expansion is completed. Six parking areas, two of them underground, can accommodate up to 16,000 cars, and there’s a free shuttle-bus service connecting the long-stay areas with the terminals. A courtesy bus service from Terminal 2 takes passengers to the nearby Lyon–Saint-Exupéry Airport Hertz branch.

How to rent a car at Lyon–Saint-Exupéry Airport
