Hertz in Athens International Airport (ATH)

Athens International Airport is the main airport serving Athens and the wider region of Attica. It’s Greece’s busiest airport as well as a hub and HQ for Aegean Airlines and several other Greek passenger carriers. In 2015 it saw over 18 million passengers pass through its two terminals, and the figure is likely to continue rising in the next few years. Situated just 38 minutes by car from the centre of Athens, Athens International Airport is beautifully positioned for exploring one of the world’s premier ancient cities and the Attica region by car from Hertz Rental.

Hertz Car Rental has an unusually long and successful track record of over 90 years of supplying quality rental vehicles to its many satisfied customers. The company allows passengers arriving at Athens International Airport to drive off in the comfort and convenience of their own self-drive car of choice, and the Hertz Car Rental branch at Athens International Airport is by far the easiest and best way of renting a car for your trip. The roads here are excellent and the scenery stunning, and a self-drive car is the best way of getting around and seeing everything this beautiful part of Greece has to offer.

About the airport

The main terminal has an underground link connecting it to the satellite terminal, the idea being to expand it in a modular manner over coming years to cope with increasing numbers of passengers. It is envisioned that annual passenger numbers of 50 million can be efficiently processed, as the airport still has space for up to five more terminals to be added.

All Inter-Schengen and some non-Schengen flights are handled in the Main Terminal with its three levels for arrivals, departures and a food court. The Satellite Terminal operates only during congested periods. The Hertz Car Rental branch at Athens International Airport is located in the Main Building close to Arrivals.

How to rent a car at Athens International Airport

The Hertz Car Rental branch is open from Monday to Sunday. 6.00am to 11.00pm. An out-of-hours drop-off and pick-up service is available to fit in with your ongoing travel requirements.
