Hertz in Kuwait International Airport (KWI)

Just nine miles to the south of Kuwait City, Kuwait International Airport is the main regional hub for Kuwait and Jazeera Airways. The airport shares over 14.6 miles of space with the Kuwait Air Force HQ and the Kuwait Air Force Museum. With Kuwait City only 20 minutes driving time away, the airport is perfectly placed for exploring both this and the surrounding region by car from Hertz Car Rental. The roads and signage are good in this area, and getting around by car is the best option.

Hertz Car Rental has been in the business of supplying customers with rental cars for over 90 years, allowing passengers arriving at Kuwait International Airport all the flexibility they need for getting around. Located in the airport’s Arrivals Lounge, the Hertz Car Rental branch at Kuwait International Airport is the most convenient means to renting a car for your business or pleasure trip.

About the airport

Built in the 1920s as a stopover for British planes travelling to Imperial India, Kuwait International Airport was extensively redeveloped between 1999 and 2001, and is today a major hub for international air travellers. 2013 saw over 9 million passengers pass through the airport’s two terminals, and the figure continues to rise consistently.

An additional terminal being built to the south of the complex will enable the airport to ultimately handle up to 25 million passengers each year. The main international arrivals lounge houses the car rental centre where you’ll find the Kuwait International Hertz branch, with restaurants and cafés close by.

Nearby attractions

Car enthusiasts travelling Kuwait will enjoy visiting the city’s famous Historical, Vintage and Classic Car museum. It’s free of charge to enter and next to it is the Car Museum City, a miniature city in which children less than 10 years of age can practice their budding driving skills in model cars.

Whilst driving around the city you can use the soaring Kuwait Towers with their instantly recognisable ‘sequins’ as a useful landmark to orientate by. For contrasting slants on Kuwaiti history, visit the ethnographic collections of the Tareq Rajab Museum and the sail-shaped Scientific Centre on the Corniche. These provide insights into the traditional and ultra-modern personas of this endlessly fascinating city.
