Hertz in Beirut International Airport (BEY)

Beirut International Airport is Lebanon’s only commercial airport. Situated 5.6 miles from Beirut’s southern suburbs, the airport’s passenger terminal saw just over 7 million travellers pass through in 2015, and this figure continues to rise as peacetime commerce and tourism continues. Beirut International Airport is ideally placed to reach the centre of the city by car from Hertz Car Rental in less than half an hour, making it easy to do business or see the attractions.

Hertz Car Rentals has been providing customers with rental vehicles for over nine decades, allowing them the driving flexibility they prefer on arriving at Beirut International Airport. Located in the main Arrivals lounge within easy walking distance of the gate, the Hertz Car Rental branch at Beirut International Airport is the best, most convenient way to rent a car here for the duration of your visit.

About the airport

Middle East Airlines, the national carrier for Lebanon, is based here along with several cargo carriers. Beirut International Airport, along with the port area of the city, is the main gateway into the rest of Lebanon. The single passenger terminal at the airport has two separate wings which are joined up by a main terminal to form a U-shaped complex. There are 23 gates in total and free Wi-Fi is available throughout.

You’ll find most of the cafés, shops, duty-free area and a restaurant in the main terminal building on the ground level, with the second and third levels housing customs, immigration and a prayer room. The Beirut International Airport Hertz branch can be found in the Arrivals lounge on the second level.

How to rent a car at Beirut International Airport

The Hertz Car Rental Branch is open between 6am and midnight Monday to Friday, and 7am and midnight Saturday and Sunday. An out of hours collection and return service is also available to ensure your car hire fits in with your travel plans.

The Hertz Car Rental branch is open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. A delivery and collection service is offered by Hertz although this has to be arranged through the Reservation Centre as it is not bookable online.

You must be at least 21 years of age to rent a Hertz car in Lebanon, although corporate customer requirements can vary. In addition, you’ll need to have a full driving licence along with an International Driving Permit (IDP). At immigration you must produce a valid passport. If your vehicle booking was made in advance, have the documentation ready when you check in at the Hertz Car Rental desk, and you can pay by debit or credit card.

Additional information:

• Should you be unwilling or unable to drive in Lebanon, Hertz Car Rental offers a chauffeur-driven option.
• You can name additional drivers for a fee of $22.00 per additional driver, and these can be added at any Hertz Car Rental branch in the country.

One of the many delights of visiting Beirut is taking a stroll or bike ride along the Corniche, with the waves on one side and a vista of the entire city on the other.
