The airport is the fourth busiest in Australasia and is amongst the top three of airports handling between 5 and 15 million passengers each year. Wander further afield and discover what the region has to offer with rental cars from Hertz Car Rental.

With nine decades of experience in providing a diverse range of customers with a choice of rental vehicles, Hertz Car Rental is in a prime position to supply arrivals at Auckland International Airport with premium quality hire cars, giving you the flexibility that comes with self-drive. Located within easy walking distance of the Arrivals gate in the International terminal, the Hertz Car Rental branch at Auckland International Airport is the convenient and quick way of renting a car for your trip to New Zealand’s North Island.

About the airport

Auckland International Airport was opened in 1966 for domestic and international flights, with the dedicated International terminal added in 1977. The airport has a single runway, with northern runway still in the planning stages. The Domestic and International terminals, previously separated, now have a common retail area connecting them. The airport is connected with the wider region by two state highways, 20A and 20B, and a new Waterview Connection will help ease traffic congestion.

Auckland International Airport has two terminals and the car rental area is located next to Arrivals in the International Terminal. This is where you’ll find the Auckland International Hertz branch, just a short stroll from the gate.
