King Abdulaziz International Airport
King Abdul Aziz International Airport is located 12 miles north of the Saudi Arabian port city of Jeddah. Opened in 1981, it is the kingdom’s third largest airport and the busiest in the country. The airport is known to Mecca pilgrims for its specially built Hajj terminal, which can handle up to 80,000 passengers at any one time. Close to Jeddah, the airport is ideally located for exploring this exciting modern city by car with Hertz Car Rental.
Hertz Car Rental has been providing its customers with rental vehicles for over 90 years, and allows passengers arriving at King Abdul Aziz International Airport to enjoy the comfort and flexibility that driving your own car offers. Located at nearby Jeddah al Bawadi on the Medina Road, the Hertz Car Rental branch for King Abdul Aziz International Airport is the most convenient option for renting a car in the area.
Serving pilgrims to Mecca and other pleasure and business passengers for more than 30 years, King Abdul Aziz International Airport continues to be hugely popular. In addition to the dedicated Hajj terminal, the airport also has a South Terminal used by Korean Air, Garuda Indonesia and Kenya Airways, and a North terminal used by all of the other foreign carriers.
The Hajj terminal is an iconic part of the airport. Designed as a series of 10 modules which in turn are made up of 21 ‘tents’, it has been designed to emulate a thriving town, with its own souq and mosque. It also offers a cool, shaded area for pilgrims, and welcome relief from the high temperatures and relentless sun.
Recent development is aimed at increasing the annual capacity of the airport to 80 million passengers and includes new lighting, paved areas and fuel systems. From the Arrivals area, a shuttle service will pick you up and take you to the Hertz Car Rental branch on nearby Medina Road.
The Hertz Car Rental branch is open Monday to Thursday from 8.00am to 11pm, on Fridays from 3.30pm to 10pm and on Saturdays and Sundays from 8.00am to 11.00pm. A service is provided to take customers from the airport to the branch.
