Hertz in Edinburgh International Airport (EDI)

Edinburgh International Airport is the busiest airport in Scotland and the sixth busiest in the UK. An important hub for domestic and international flights, Edinburgh Airport connects over 11 million passengers annually to more than 100 destinations globally. Situated around 9km from the Edinburgh city centre, Edinburgh Airport serves the regions of Edinburgh, Lothian, Fife, the Scottish Borders and Central Scotland.

Driving through the picturesque rolling hills of Lothian and the Scottish Borders is a joy, or you might want to head straight into the historic city of Edinburgh as soon as you land. With a branch located right at the airport, you can hire a car with Hertz Car Rental as soon as your plane touches down – no fuss just great value.

About the airport

With a history dating back to the 1940s, Edinburgh Airport has been a major Scottish transport hub for many decades and, although it used to play second fiddle to Glasgow International Airport in terms of passenger numbers, it has since become Scotland’s busiest airport. Today, Edinburgh Airport is home to over 40 airlines flying to and from more than 100 domestic and international destinations.

Edinburgh Airport consists of a single terminal and two runways. Due to increasing passenger numbers, the terminal, which handles both international and domestic flights, is currently undergoing a £40million refurbishment and expansion. The airport has all the facilities you would expect from a major transport hub – including several hotels nearby, such as the Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh Airport, located roughly five minutes away.
