London Gatwick airport is the second largest airport in the United Kingdom and is regarded as the most efficient single-runway airport currently in operation in the world. It welcomes more than 40 million passengers per year and its location makes it perfect for trips to London or picturesque southern England. Wherever you plan to explore, a Hertz Car Rental vehicle gives you the freedom and flexibility to discover some of southern England’s hidden gems at your own pace.
Hertz has nearly a century of experience providing vehicle rental services to their customers across the globe. The London Gatwick branch can be found near the airport’s South Terminal, so you can rent your vehicle or collect one that you have pre-booked quickly and easily.
London Gatwick opened its doors to the public in 1958 with around 186,000 passengers during the first twelve months. Today it serves 200 destinations (that’s more than any other UK airport) in 90 countries globally.
Gatwick has two terminals linked by a free shuttle train. In recent years, they have made huge investments in improved, state-of-the-art airport facilities for passengers, and has pledged to invest a further £1billion.
The Hertz Car Rental branch at London Gatwick is located close to the airport’s South Terminal so passengers arriving there just need to follow the car rental signs. Passengers arriving at the North Terminal should use the shuttle service. The branch offers an out of hours collection and return service, making it easy to pick up and return your vehicle at a time that suits your travel arrangements.
You must be at least 23 (upon payment of a young driver surcharge) to hire a car with Hertz in the UK. When you come to pick up your vehicle, you will need to supply a full, valid driving licence, another form of ID such as a passport or bank statement that proves your name and current address, plus your credit or debit card. If you have pre-booked, you will also need to supply your reservation details.
If you hold a UK driving licence, you will also need a unique code or Licence Summary printout from the DVLA.
