About the airport
Chicago Midway International airport is the smaller of two main airports serving Chicago, Illinois. Established in 1927, it was originally called Chicago Municipal airport – until it was renamed in honour of 1942’s Battle of Midway. It was also the primary airport in the Chicago area until O’Hare International Airport opened in 1955.

How to rent a car at Chicago Midway International Airport
The Hertz Car Rental branch is open Monday to Sunday from 6am to 1.30am. For vehicle return please head to the consolidated rental garage at 5150 West 55th Street. Follow the return signs to the ground floor level of the parking garage, and then look out for our return lane signs. After-hours drop-off can be arranged via our Reservation Centre.
You need to be aged 23 or over to rent a car from Hertz at Chicago Midway International Airport. All drivers need to show a valid driver’s license from their country of residence. You also require a valid passport and photo ID. Under 25 years old? A young driver surcharge will apply, and only certain vehicles will be available to you.

• The city of Chicago requires all rental car companies to collect a $2.75 Motor Vehicle Lessor Tax, and this will be added to your rental costs. For Tour and pre-paid programs, the fee is not included in your pre-payment and must be paid when you return the vehicle.
