Rental is vehicle hire for a period of fewer than 12 months. Any hire period longer than 12 months is considered to be a lease. With a rental, customers pick from the existing fleet of vehicles, and cannot choose a specific vehicle. It is unlikely to be a new vehicle and will have been used as a rental before the customer rents it for themselves. Lease agreements can be offered for both brand new and used/Ex Fleet vehicles. A lease can be offered for a minimum of 12 months up to 48 months.

To lease a vehicle a customer will require a valid passport with visa page, Emirates ID & driver’s license (vehicles may be leased by UAE residents only), Etihad Credit Bureau authorization, a credit card, and a salary certificate or bank statement from the customer’s salary transfer bank.

Lease customers may add an additional driver for the term of their contract free of cost, provided the additional driver is legally entitled to drive in the UAE.

The lease payments are determined by the selected model, lease term, and specific mileage.

A one-time charge of AED 300 will apply for the set-up of insurance and lease file, and AED 50 for a new Salik tag. Should the lease application be rejected (based on credit scoring), a charge of AED 300 will apply as a processing fee.

Yes, fully comprehensive insurance is included in the lease cost. The lease cost also includes Personal Accident Insurance on the leased vehicle.
