Steeped in history, art and culture, Vienna is European culture at its most elegant. A Hertz car rental in Vienna lets you soak up the ambience of this beautiful city in style at your leisure.

Vienna is made up of a series of 23 districts. At the centre is the Innere Stadt, or 1st District. The Innere Stadt is situated away from the Danube but bound by the Danube canal on the north eastern side. Here you’ll find the old town and some of Vienna’s most famous attractions and sights such as Stephansdom and the Stephansplatz.

The inner city area is ringed by the Ringstraße, a circular boulevard that follows the route of the old city walls. Here you will find many grand building such as the Rathaus, the Hofburg Palace, the Natural History Museum and the State Opera House. Beyond the Ring but within the belt road are districts 2 to 9 where you’ll find the Prater. This was once the playground for the rich and famous, and a major hunting area kept exclusively for Vienna's aristocratic families. However, it's now open to everyone and is a beautiful public park.
