Hertz in Prague International Airport (PRG)

Prague International Airport is located 10km to the west of Prague city center and is one of Europe’s busiest airports. It’s a Czech Airways hub and also a regional center for low-cost carriers. In 2015 it saw over 12 million passengers pass through its two main passenger terminals, although there are two additional terminals for cargo and general aviation. Within a short drive of Prague, the airport is ideally located for exploring this ancient East European capital with Hertz Car Rental.

For almost 100 years Hertz Car Rental has been providing customers around the world with rental vehicles, allowing visitors arriving at Prague International Airport for instance the flexibility that self-drive rental brings. Located in the C building car parking area, the Hertz Car Rental branch at Prague International Airport is the most convenient and comfortable mode of transport for your ongoing journey or city break.

About the airport

Prague International Airport is a thoroughly modern facility perfectly positioned for international travelers in the central part of Europe. Major developments took place in 2005 to cope with increasing demand, and a new runway opened in 2010. A direct rail link between Prague city centre and the airport is also in the planning stage.

Prague International Airport has four terminals, two for passengers and two for general aviation and cargo respectively. Terminal 1, opened in 1997, is used for flights outside of the European Schengen area, and Terminal 2, opened in 2006, for Schengen area flights only. Terminal 3 was opened in 1997 and is used for charter and private flights. The Hertz Car Rental desk can be found close to the departure hall in Parking C.

How to rent a car at Prague International Airport

The Hertz Car Rental branch is open Monday to Sunday from 8.00am to 10.00pm, and Hertz also operates an out-of-hours delivery and collection service to fit in with your travel plans.

You must be at least 25 years old to rent a car in the Czech Republic, and no older than 70. There are also additional age restraints when you wish to rent certain types of vehicle. If you’re from an EU country you’ll need to be able to produce a valid ID or passport, or a valid passport should you be a non-EU resident. A valid driving licence is also required from EU citizens, or an International Driving Permit (IDP) should you be non-EU. If you arranged your pick-up in advance then you must produce the relevant paperwork, and you can make your payment using either a credit or a debit card.

Additional information:

• For those customers who would prefer not to drive their hire car, or are unable to do so, Hertz can arrange for a Chauffeur- Drive service on request.
• The deliver and collection service for out-of-hours when the Hertz car rental desk is closed must be arranged online, and you can check with your Reservation Centre for more details concerning this.
