Hertz in Dublin airport (DUB)| Hertz

Dublin Airport is the busiest air traffic hub in the Republic of Ireland. The two-runway airport sees more than 20.2million passengers walk through its gates each year on their way to and from a variety of international and intercontinental destinations. Just 20 minutes from the Irish capital Dublin, the airport is ideally located for city breaks and for anyone looking to explore all this beautiful country has to offer. Hiring a car is the perfect way to travel through Ireland, giving you comfort as well as convenience.

Hertz Car Rental has branches based at Dublin airport as well as in and around the city, so that you can collect your car as soon as your flight lands, letting you get on with your trip straight away whether for business or leisure. We have more than 90 years of experience helping customers rent the right car. Thanks to our expertise and experience we can ensure your keep journey runs smoothly, no matter where you want to go.

About the airport

Dublin airport opened in 1940 and now serves 175 destinations via 57 airlines, with its top destinations being London, Paris and New York. The airport has a huge range of facilities including shops, bars and restaurants and even has a US Customs & Border Protection pre-clearance facility — one of only a few airports outside North America to have one.

The airport has two terminals - Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 - connected by a covered walkway, allowing passengers to transfer between without requiring buses or trains. All Ryanair flights depart from Terminal 1 while Aer Lingus flies almost exclusively from Terminal 2.

How to rent a car at Dublin Airport

Hertz Car Rental has two locations at Dublin Airport. The Terminal 1 branch is in the Arrivals Hall on your right as you come from the customs area. The Terminal 2 branch is in the car hire centre. As you leave the Arrivals gate, continue towards the short-term car park, following the signs for car hire. Hertz Car Rental is to the left. Both branches are open from 5am to 1am seven days a week, and out-of-hours services are available.

To rent a car in Ireland, the renter must have been eligible to hold a driver’s license for at least six years with a minimum of two years at full license status. You must be able to produce your full, valid driver’s license and, if you are not from an EU country, you must be able to show your International Driving Permit (IDP). Customers from Northern Ireland must also produce their paper counterpart in addition to their photocard.

Domestic and EU renters must be able to show their passport or national identity card. Non-EU renters must show their valid passport. If you have booked your car in advance, please have your reservation details to hand. All customers must also have their credit or debit card.
