Hertz in Casablanca Airport

You’ll find Casablanca Airport just 30km south of Casablanca, the largest city in Morocco. Also known as Muhammed V Casablanca Airport, it is the biggest and the busiest in the country, serving over 8 million passengers each year and with a network that leads to over 100 destinations, courtesy of 23 airlines. Connected to Casablanca by excellent highways, the airport is perfectly located for those wishing to explore this historic and exciting city, with a hire car from Hertz Car Rental.

For almost 100 years, Hertz Car Rental has been the world’s leading vehicle rental organisation, offering its customers the best in self-drive services. Hertz customers can choose from a variety of quality rental vehicles, whether they are travelling for business or pleasure. Millions of customers have discovered the comfort, convenience and freedom afforded by choosing to drive Hertz Car Rental vehicles, with over 7,700 branches in 145 countries worldwide.

About the Airport

Casablanca Airport was built in 1943, originally for use as a supplementary airport for the now non-existent Anfa Airport, which was also based in Casablanca. During this time, Casablanca Airport was known as the Berrechid Airfield and wasn’t renamed until the late 1950s, when it was reopened after a period of dormancy.

Today, the airport is sleek and modern, with three terminals offering a variety of services to the millions of passengers who pass through its doors each year.

Terminal One is currently being expanded to increase its capacity from around 8 million to a proposed 23 million passengers. Royal Air Marroc is the primary carrier in Terminal Two, offering international flights, while the smallest terminal, Terminal Three, is rarely used. There is an extensive range of restaurants and cafés in the airport, serving everything from fast food to authentic Moroccan dishes.

Passengers wishing to make use of the VIP Lounge can ask for further information at the lounge’s front desk. The VIP Lounge offers its customers all those little extras that make a journey that much easier, such as assistance with luggage and more space and comfort.

How to rent a car at Casablanca Airport

The Hertz Car Rental branch is open on Monday from 7.00am to 10.00pm, seven days a week. Hertz also provides a drop-off and pick-up service which is out-of-hours and can be arranged through the Reservation Centre.

You must be at least 18 years of age and have held your licence for a full year, to rent a car through Hertz at Casablanca Airport. This applies to just one class of vehicle, and for other categories you’ll need to be either 23 or 25 depending on the make. On payment of a young driver surcharge, this can be reduced to 19 years old in the 25-group.

You will need an International Driving Permit (IDP) and your passport. Where customers have arranged advance collection, the relevant documentation will be required, and all payments can be made using a credit or debit card.

Additional information:

• A satellite navigation system fitted into some makes and models of rental vehicle allow easier negotiation of the region.

• Child and booster seats are available for those travelling with children.
